• Iowa saw a record of 18,696 Iowans infected with COVID-19 from October 30 – November 5. A total of 144,142 Iowans have tested positive for COVID-19 since March. Unfortunately, there were 110 more deaths this week. So far, 1,815 Iowans have lost their lives to COVID-19. 

 

  • Iowa hospitals continue to see a surge in COVID cases reaching a record 912 Iowans in the hospital. 306 Iowans have been admitted in the last 8 days. Despite the uptick in cases and hospitalizations, Gov. Reynolds has not taken any mitigation efforts and most hospitals are at or near capacity. 

 

  • Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) today announced the launch of the new Iowa Movie Theatre Relief Program. The program will provide short-term relief to eligible movie theaters for the purpose of continuing or resuming operations in the context of the public health emergency.
