With warmer weather comes many potholes along roads in Iowa. The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is working to fill those potholes around the state, while counties and cities are doing the same. The DOT spends approximately $4 million each year repairing potholes.
The Iowa DOT is asking for help in reporting road damaged following the winter months. If you see a pothole on an interstate or state highway, you can contact the DOT via Facebook at www.facebook.com/iowadot or on Twitter at www.twitter.com/iowadot using the hashtag #IAFillUsIn.
Wait to Facebook or tweet when you’re no longer driving, and when you see crews out patching a pothole or doing other construction, use caution, and always move over or slow down.
