As the Affordable Health Care Act rolls out on October 1st, Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller released today a guide to navigating the new health insurance marketplace. If you are uninsured or buy your own coverage you can enroll for health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace for coverage beginning as soon as January 1, 2014. The Marketplace will allow you to compare and select plans. Those plans must be Qualified Health Plans explicitly approved by the federal government to serve Iowa.
There are many sources to help you navigate this new market. To learn more information go to the Iowa Attorney General’s office webpage at: http://www.state.ia.us/government/ag/consumer_advisories/health/Navigating_new_health.html
