Representative Kirsten Running-Marquardt
House District 69
Representative Kirsten Running-Marquardt is serving her 3th term in the Iowa House of Representatives. Kirsten was elected in a special election in Nov. 2009 and currently serves as a Ranking Member on the Economic Development Appropriations Subcommittee and also serves on the full Appropriations, Economic Growth and Labor Committees.
Rep. Kirsten Running-Marquardt is a 6th generation Iowan born & raised in Cedar Rapids, graduated from LaSalle High School, attended Kirkwood Community College, graduated from the University of Iowa and moved back to Cedar Rapids with her husband Coy Marquardt. Kirsten, Coy and their son, Jack, a 4th grader at Prairie Hill Elementary, proudly call Cedar Rapids home.
Kirsten is a member of NARFE, CRnetWork, Iron Workers Local 89, John XXIII Catholic Church, and a board member of the Iowa Small Business Development Centers, the Iowa Workforce Development and the History Center of Linn County. Kirsten was previously a Director of Iowa for Health Care, and served our community working for a member of our Iowa federal delegation.
