After positive feedback at the Iowa State Fair, the Department of Transportation (DOT) is allowing Iowans to renew their driver’s licenses at special kiosks at DOT offices in Ankeny, Cedar Rapids, and Davenport. Users at the Fair said they like the kiosks because they are easy to use, save time, and eliminate long lines. The Iowa DOT expects to add services that may be completed at the kiosks and to install more kiosks at locations convenient to customers during 2014.

The Iowa DOT launched their online renewal this summer and just like online renewal, persons must be at least 18 years old, but younger than 70, and cannot have any medical or vision conditions that would negatively affect your ability to drive.  The kiosks will take your picture as well as go through the normal checks with the National Driving Registry to check for validity.
