Former Grinnell-Newburg School Board President Eric Pederson announced today he will run for State Representative in House District 76, which includes Poweshiek County and part of Iowa County including Williamsburg.

“I look forward to the opportunity to serve my community once again,” said Pederson. “I’ll work with everyone, regardless of party, to do what’s best for the citizens of House District 76.”

Upon graduating from Iowa State, Pederson moved back to Poweshiek County and became the 5th generation to manage the Pederson family farm. He served on the Grinnell-Newburg School Board from 2006-2009.

“I’ll be speaking with the citizens of House District 76 at their doorstep and I look forward to discussing how we can fully fund education and ensure rural Iowans have a seat at the table,” said Pederson.

Pederson and his wife of 25 years, Anne, have 4 children and 1 grandchild.  Pederson is an active Kiwanis member, and he and his wife are active in UCC Congregational Church in Grinnell.
