Lisa Heddens is serving her 6th term in the Iowa House. She is a Ranking Member of the Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee. She also serves on the Appropriations, Economic Growth and Human Resources and the Administrative Rules and Regulations committees.
Lisa was born on June 6, 1964 in Rochester, Minnesota where she graduated from Mayo High School.
In 1989, Lisa earned a teaching certificate in elementary education at Iowa State University. She has spent most of her professional life working with family service agencies. Currently she is the Service Coordinator for Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) – People Place, a Family Resource Center.
Lisa serves on the Council on Human Services and the Mental Health and Disability Services Commission.
She is also a Board Member for Friendship Ark Homes, Inc. in Ames.
Lisa has resided in Ames for almost 30 years. She has two children.
