• In the last 24 hours, 237 new positive cases were reported with about 3,000 total tests conducted. Unfortunately there were an additional 14 deaths, bringing the total to 381 deaths in Iowa so far. 
  • The Governor loosened more public health measures put in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 today by opening movie theaters, zoos, museums, aquariums, swimming pools, wedding reception venues, and auctions with some restrictions beginning on Friday, May 22.
  • Beginning this week, the state’s COVID-19 website will be updated in real time instead of daily as has been the case. Visit https://coronavirus.iowa.gov/ to see case counts in your community. 
  • Iowans who would like to vote from home in the June 2nd primary need to request an absentee ballot by 5pm, Friday, May 22. Download a request form at https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/electioninfo/absenteeinfo.html or call your local county auditor.
