- There were 83 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total up to 868. There are now 91 Iowans currently hospitalized due to COVID-19 and another 8 Iowans died, bringing the total to 22. Positive cases have now been reported in 70 of Iowa’s 99 counties.
- The Iowa Dept. of Public Health says more than 10% of all positive cases are occurring among long-term care staff and residents. 40% of Iowa deaths are related to outbreaks in long-term care facilities.
- Iowa will receive more than $44 million from FEMA that will be used to reimburse the state for costs it has incurred in March and April to implement emergency protective measures including the purchase of personal protective equipment (PPE).
