• Iowa officials reported a record 14 deaths from COVID-10 on Thursday. There were 302 new positive cases and hospitalizations continue to rise as well. 
  • Another 28,827 Iowans filed initial claims for state unemployment benefits last week, up from the week before. That makes 260,000 new claims filed in the last six weeks, the most since the Great Depression. Nationally, another 3.8 million unemployment claims were filed.   • An inmate at the correctional facility reported positive for COVID-19 and has been put in medical isolation to prevent the spread to other inmates or staff.
  • As farmers struggle with the effects of COVID-19, the Iowa Dept. of Agriculture has created a Resource Coordination Center (RCC) to help producers impacted by supply chain disruptions. Iowa livestock producers can call the RCC at (515) 725-1005, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., or fill out a help form anytime at iowafarmerhelp.com.
