- Iowa officials reported a record 521 new positive cases and a record 11 deaths on Friday. Overall, the percent of positive cases being reported is still increasing.
- State officials also confirmed the coronavirus peak isn’t expected for another 2-3 weeks.
- Despite the increasing number of positive cases and outbreaks, the Governor began loosening public health measures used to slow the spread of the virus. She did not provide additional data or information to demonstrate why it’s safe to do so.
- State officials announced this week that an additional $30 million will be awarded in Iowa Small Business Relief Grants. The grants will be awarded to businesses that applied back in March but have not yet received funding. New applications will not be accepted.
