Lisa Heddens is serving her 5th term in the Iowa House.  She is a Ranking Member of the Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee.  She also serves on the Appropriations, Human Resources, Economic Growth/Rebuild Iowa and Veterans Affairs committees.

Lisa was born on June 6, 1964 in Rochester, Minnesota.  She and her husband moved to Iowa in 1984 and have lived in Ames for twenty-seven years. They have two children.

In 1989, Lisa earned a teaching certificate in elementary education at Iowa State University.  She has spent most of her professional life working with family service agencies.  She currently is the Service Coordinator for LSI’s People Place, a family resource center.

Lisa’s husband,  Jeff,  is a Construction Engineer with the Iowa Department of Public Defense.
