I know there are many items on the agenda. My concern is the information concerning churches in the Iowa Workforce and government bylaws. I had worked at First Lutheran Evangelical CHurch in Newton, Iowa for 6 years. I was let go on the 19th of Feb. When I went to apply for unemployment, I can not get it due to that churches do not have to pay unemployment taxes. Also are you aware that each minister in the USA get $25,000 tax free. That is more that the church paid me in a year and I do not get to draw unemployment. I have applied whereever I can. I have nothing except my check that I get Monday and that it. feeling sorry for myself, no, I will make it, it just makes me mad that the government allows this crap to happen. Everyone struggles and then to give someone $25,000 tax free that makes well over $90,000 a year. Please look into this, there are alot of hurting unemployed people out there and here the state of IOwa is giving money away to people who don’t need it.
