HSB 515      Hedging Transactions. Modifies Iowa Code definition of highly effective hedging transactions to National Association of Insurance Commissioners accounting guidance.  (passed Committee 21-0) to House Calendar

HSB 516      Iowa Cell Siting Act Sunset. Extends the “Iowa Cell Siting Act” sunset clause from 2022 to 2025. (passed Committee 20-1) to House Calendar.

Human Resources

HSB 501      Capping the Cost of Insulin. Caps the cost of a covered prescription insulin to $100 for a 30-day supply. This does not apply to Medicaid or Medicare. (passed House Human Resources Committee 20-0) to House Calendar

HSB 532      Prescription Monitoring Program Updates. Clarifies that veterinarians will also have access to the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP). The bill also expands reporting requirements in the PMP to include all Schedule III and IV controlled substances, as well as Schedule V (except for pseudoephedrine). Allows the PMP Advisory Council and the Board of Pharmacy to add substances to the PMP if they determine them to be addictive or fatal if not taken under proper care. HSB 534      Preparation for Adult Living Program. Department of Human Services bill that allows those youth aging out of a relative foster care placement to receive the same Preparation for Adult Living (PAL) benefits that the young adults who are leaving a state foster care placement receive.  Currently, those young adults leaving state foster care receive $600 per month from the ages of 18-21 to meet their self-sufficiency goals and are assigned a case worker. However, those youth who were placed with a relative do not get these benefits. (passed House Human Resources Committee 20-0) to House Calendar

HF 2001      Telehealth Payment Parity. Requires a health insurer to reimburse telehealth services at the same rate as in-person office healthcare services. (passed House Human Resources Committee 21-0) to House Calendar

HF 2031      Membership-Local Boards of Health. Changes the makeup of local Boards of Health to allow one of the five board members to be a physician assistant, an advanced registered nurse practitioner, or an advanced practice registered nurse, instead of a physician. (passed House Human Resources Committee 20-0) to House Calendar

HF 2052      Medical Residency State Matching Grants Program.  Expands the primary care practice areas to include obstetrics, gynecology, family medicine, internal medicine, and emergency medicine for the medical residency training state matching grants program. (passed House Human Resources Committee 21-0) to House Calendar

HF 2073       Institutions for Mental Diseases 1115 Waiver. Requires DHS to submit a 1115 demonstration waiver to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide reimbursement for services provided in facilities considered institutions for mental diseases (IMDs). These facilities are residential with more than 16 beds where patients are receiving care for mental disease as specified by federal law. Judiciary Committee

HF 662         Jury Pool Taxpayer Information.  Authorizes the Department of Revenue to share taxpayer information with the Judicial Branch for compiling jury lists.  (passed Committee 21-0) to House Calendar

HF 705         GAL Responsibilities.  Expands the responsibilities and reporting requirements of a guardian ad litem for children.  (passed Committee 21-0) to House Calendar

State Government

HF 167         Mobile Barber Shops and Salons.  Would allow for the regulation of mobile barbershops and salons.  (passed Committee 22-1) to House Calendar.

HSB 502      Debt Offset. Allows for a debt offset on sports wagering and other games. Currently an offset is just collected off winnings from slot machines. (passed Committee 23-0) to House Calendar.

Veterans Affairs

SF 280          Rock Island Hunting and Fishing Licenses. Allows people stationed at Rock Island who live in Iowa to hunt and fish in Iowa. (passed House Veterans Affairs Committee 15-0) to House Calendar
