State Representative Charles Isenhart of Dubuque is the son of Bud and Marcella Isenhart. He has four brothers, two sisters, 15 nieces and nephews, 21 great-nieces- and-nephews, and four goddaughters.
Chuck attended Wahlert High School. He graduated from Loras College in 1981 with a degree in political science and mass communication. He received a master’s degree in journalism from Marquette University in 1984.
Chuck owns his own small business, Common Good Services, which offers communications, public relations, training and education, strategic planning, and other organizational services.
From 1990 to 2007, Chuck was executive director of the Dubuque Area Labor- Management Council, which included work in labor relations, health care (Tri-State Health C.A.R.E. Coalition and Iowa Health Buyers Alliance), construction (Alliance for Construction Excellence) and education/workforce development (Communities and Schools Together).
Chuck is the ranking member on the Environmental Protection Committee. He also serves on the Economic Growth Committee, Ways and Means Committee, and Agriculture and Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee.
