House Website Gets Noticed01.02.08

Our humble House of Representatives blog has been getting some notice and some national press. In particular, the Sunlight Foundation:

The mission of the Sunlight Foundation is to use the transformative power of the Internet and new information technology to enable citizens to learn more about what Congress and their elected representatives are doing, and thus help reduce corruption, ensure greater transparence and accountability by government, and foster public trust in the vital institutions of democracy. To further its mission and provide as much relevant information as possible, the foundation writes a number of blogs on those topics.

This builds upon the work House Democrats have been doing on revising Iowa’s Open Meetings & Public Information laws.
