The University of Iowa’s Metal Casting Center is a recognized leader in foundry research, applied technology, and technical business assistance.

The Metal Casting Center started partnering with Iowa based foundries in 1990 to connect university research and resources. They offer a combination of practical hands-on experience, modern well-equipped facilities, and cutting edge technology and concepts to the casting industry while educating students to be floor ready upon graduation.

The Metal Casting Center serves private business from nationally recognized foundry operations to small individually owned businesses. The center provides assistance to 75% of the foundries in Iowa. These foundries provide key assistance in helping companies supply parts to Iowa’s manufacturing and agriculture businesses.
