IN OUR IOWA COMMUNITIES
Today, in the name of budget cuts, right to free speech is in danger of being restricted or controlled by some of our elected leaders. They have an agenda that would close the door to free expression by people like you, These leaders would prevent you joining with others to assert and protect your rights. They would control you and your fellow Workers by the way they adjust their proposed budgets. In effect they would try to use “the peoples money” in ways that deprive you of your constitutional right to join together to negotiate for wages and benefits.
How is this being done? By proposing laws that would restrict the right of people to band together to bargain for wages and benefits. This is now being done in a united effort across our nation. It is being expressed in the form of “financial necessity.” The financial issues are real, but the solutions being pushed would put a citizens right to unite with others to gain a fare wage and benefits in jeopardy. At risk are wages, health care, safe working conditions, reasonable hours, job security, and a path to seniority.
Under our constitution every citizen has the right of freedom of association and freedom to express their point of view.
In our society there are those who, t o further their own agenda , exercise these freedoms in trying to restrict the freedom of others. These actions must be called out for what they are, a violation of our constitutional assured rights. They must be identified, challenged and defeated by use of our guaranteed rights to free speech and freedom of association and assembly.
You gathered in Drs Moines to protest against those ideas and proposed laws that would take away your rights which so many of you have worked and earned. Now you would prevent others from taking away the right to bargain together for wages and benefits..
Let no one in the fog of budget balancing deprive you and your fellow workers or prevent you from collective bargaining to protect your future and the future of your families. Le no one take away from you the constitutional rights our ancestors lived, fought, and died ro secure.
Tyranny in all of it’s forms. Policies, rules, and laws, in the name of Budgets , can not be permitted to take away your rights.. Protect your rights to join together and resist the tyranny some leaders would oppose you with. You stand together to express yourselves. The citizens of Iowa stand to support and honor you for your service to us all. senilely and together.
Let no one use their ideas of what is financially necessary to take away from you your constitutional rights of free of uniting together to express your rights of free speech and assembly.
Now is the time, now is the hour, for all of us to join together, to insist on your rights and our right to freedom of speech and freedom to join with each other to negotiate together with those who would have you serve and work in your skill area, in you ro reward you for your service and experience in vital areas of our self-governing . Let the peoples money be use d for the tasks the people have contacted with you to do. To teacher our children, to nurture health and well being, to bring security to our communities, to assure us safety in our homes, to do those things we have called and asked you to do on our behalf. We stand with you to prevent the loss of what we believe you have rightfully gains and earned. Strength and wisdom to you as you protect and assert your freedom of speech, and your freedom to join togther in strength with unity!`

I have been watching the live feed of bill 525 today,I cant believe people aren’t up in arms over this it is amazing we have listened to so much bologna on the news people don’t seem to care whats going on right in front of them.
