Des Moines has been named “America’s best city to do business,” according to MarketWatch’s annual survey of cities.

Des Moines beat competing cities such as Washington D.C., Omaha, and previous multiple-year winner Minneapolis/St. Paul. The survey compared the economic strength and business climate of more than 100 cities across the nation.

MarketWatch cited Des Moines’ diverse economy, relatively low unemployment, concentration of major businesses, and economic stability, among other factors.
