Jumpstart Flood Assistance Now Available

Financial assistance is now available for homeowners and small businesses impacted by the devastating floods and storms in 2008. The $40 million Jumpstart Iowa program, created by Governor Chet Culver in September, provides support to homeowners for rebuilding, repairs, or $1,000 per month for mortgage assistance. Small businesses can receive up to $50,000 in a forgivable loan.

Applications for Jumpstart Housing and Small Business assistance is available on-line at www.jumpstart.iowa.gov or by calling 866-849-0323.

we lost our business due to the flood in June 2008. we have not been able to get any assistance
either for cleaning or financially and only get the response businesses are not helped.
i read of this last program from the state last week in the newspaper and would like to know
how we can get more information about this and some possible help? the building is going to
have to be torn down and we do not have the funds for this. i did access the buyout list that
was sent in for residents of oakville but my name was not on it–i had signed the papers and feel
it should at least be on the list. what could have happened to it???? again could you send me
more information and possible applications or whatever? thank you; delpha m. blint
